As I listen to The HEAT on XM Satellite radio, which is dope by the way...I get all flavors of the slow jams served on a daily basis and I'm not gonna lie, there are some good ones out there. But it's different now. Excuse me while I go soft in y'all but, slow jams used to speak of a romantic type of feeling, a longing, taking your time with someone you care about. Don't get me wrong, the strong sexual tone and or lyrics still existed. Groups like Jodeci helped make that popular but they mixed it up.
Remember back in the day...when you used to make mix tapes? I mean they all had the same goal...to get you some booty. Rubs Mix, Booty mix, Freak mix what ever you called it, the list goes on and on, a teenager with raging hormnes will use anything in his arsenal to get some play. Those were good times........where was I? Oh yeah.
You started off soft and gradually got into the more sexual stuff. Like for example you may start with some Boyz II Men and lead into some Jodeci. If all goes well by the time you got to those songs....well you know.
Lets look at the new guys coming through...and songs like "I Invented Sex", "Sex therapy" , "Birthday sex", "Grind on me (That song is tight)" notice a theme? The Lustful overly sexual to outright nasty lyrics and tone in these songs are soaked up by the new generation of R&B fanatics. Does this translate into the new generation not respecting the ladies? One might say no, this Ninja says yes. That's why these kids are lacking game. They don't know how to talk to the ladies anymore, they hear these songs and they see this as the proper approach to kick some game. I do like the freakiness in the songs and I'd be a hypocrite if I said I wasn't feeling them, but I do miss my oldskool jams.
Thank goodness for Artists like Maxwell & my girl Alicia Keys who still keep things classic to some degree.
In the end I can make do with the Ne-Yo's, Usher, JT in fact I'm a big fan of all these artists, I think they do a good job of mixing it up. SO for the newer generation here is my advise:
Do exactly that. Mix it up, if you take anything form these songs, learn that treating a lady right, is more than just throwing it down in the bedroom (Although it helps), it's about taking the time to make them feel special, and respected.
And that my friends, is the key to truly getting in there to wax dat ass.
Stay sexy.

I'm working on a new mix right now called "Luv in my tub..." sure to produce great results.
The best is when we got to put our own intro and outro to the mix tape....Yo Baby this one is for you. Then in the end... Yo baby you know I miss you and care for you, hope you liked this mix.
